We support journalists in our collaborative with:
- Opportunities to participate in cross-jurisdictional, community-driven investigations
- Peer mentorship from reporters with experience covering the system
- Opportunities to connect with and learn from people with lived expertise in the child “welfare” system in a safe, low-stakes environment
- Up to $3,000 annually to help cover reporting costs
Ongoing editorial support (e.g. pitch/story feedback, FOI/ATIP requests, etc.) - Sensitivity edits by lived experts to support trauma-informed, respectful storytelling
- Amplification of stories by the collaborative
- Right to republish stories produced by media partners in the collaborative
- Guides and resources for best practices
